About the project

Nabolagshager, in cooperation with a number of European partners, is part of the European project called «PlaceCity, placemaking for sustainable, thriving cities». The aim of the project is to develop, test and evaluate placemaking tools in different urban contexts and make these tools available to every city in Europe. Placemaking tools will be tested in real life case studies in Vienna and Oslo with the aim of activating public spaces and finding long-term, sustainable solutions and engaging local stakeholders to vitalize public spaces.

The long-term impact of this project will be the on-going presence of a consolidated European network of placemakers, and the positioning of placemaking as a fundamental measure for urban development and renewal in Europe.

About the Internships

Within the project PlaceCity, we are planning a Park(ing) Day to transform a street beside Hersleb High School, in Grønland, into a vibrant public space for one day. PARK(ing) Day is celebrated annually all over the world (this year on the 20th of September) where people come together to creatively re-imagine regular parking lots, injecting vibrancy and fun into the streets.
